Smart is a construction and fabrication specialist in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. He worked for both indigenous and multinational companies in this capacity in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In 1999, he founded and is currently Managing Director of a Port Harcourt-based oil servicing company which specialises in the design, fabrication and installation of steel and allied structures/facilities for major oil producing multinationals such as Total, Mobil, Shell, NNPC, and for the power, communication and manufacturing sectors of the Nigerian economy.Smart holds BA and MPhil degrees from the University of Nigeria and the University of Port Harcourt respectively.
